For those of you making molds for pieces, here's a really basic question.

What are you guys using to keep two part molds separated? Currently I'm using Synair's PAM 333 which seems to work well, but for a proper puzzle piece a 2 part mold must be made.

So what is being used to make the mold come apart? I know that you have to pour part of it first and then use some solvent to prevent the second pouring from sticking to the first, but what is to be used? I tried using SynLube 531 and I think it may have been responsible for turning part of my mold into a sticky mush.

Should I go ahead and use that? Did I screw up the ratio of hardener to resin? Is there any other easy trick I can use to make the mold come apart? Any help would be appreciated.

To keep the molds seperated, use good old household vasoline. That's what I use and it works 100%.

As for turning your molds to slush, this means you haven't added enough hardiner. I have done this myself. The mold is really soft and a little sticky. Not enough hardiner.
