I don't know how many others have had this thought, but can this thing even work the way we assume it does? Seems to me that all of those white divisions can't be cuts.
I wonder if it's just a Pyraminx extended on one face (the bottom, say) that would take on various off-blance shapes as you twist any of the bottom three corners. If this were the case, I believe it would have to be almost completely "bandaged", as many of the extensions would limit movements all over the place.
My 20 year old playable Pyraminx is apparently hidden so well in my toybox at my mom's place that she is unable to find it to send it to me. And the one I just bought from eBay is "mint" and has unbroken seals so I won't be playing with that one either. Finally, the big one I bought from "rubik" on eBay tore apart the first time I tried to use it so I don't have one of these to help me decide if this is even possible.
Anyone else have thoughts on it? Would the ball mechanism of a standard Pyraminx be enough to keep a Master Pyramid corner attached at the 60deg point in a turn?
