I've ordered several puzzles off shapeways recently and have experienced a wide spread of times for the shipping of these puzzles. Some ship on the expected ship dates, some ship much sooner than that. It seems the ship dates are set by material and not size of the print as well. I'm printing something currently in Polished Silver and that is set for several weeks from now even though it is quite small while printings of much larger silver models are the same printing time. This seems to apply with white strong and flexible as well. Do they just hold onto the models until the expected date even if it is done? I'd expect they'd want to ship them off ASAP so that they don't have as many sitting around.

Service times are eratic but have improved a lot. A year ago delays were common and sometimes lasted weeks.

I don't think Shapeways holds onto prints or delays shipping. The do prints in batches and sometimes they have a long queue and sometimes something goes wrong and they have to reprint.

Plus, with silver, I think they have to contract that print out and there could be delays out of their control.

So this is strange again. I placed two orders, one for my Skewb X-Barrel on the 10th and one for my Super OctoCube on the 13th. The Octocube was labeled as shipping on the 13th and my X-Barrel on the 10th. Just today I checked and my OctoCube has shipped yet my X-Barrel is still in production. This seems strange as my X-Barrel is a smaller print than my OctoCube being nearly half the cost. This just seems strange to me.

I once printed some spares for the Mastre Kilohexaminx and they took 3 weeks to get them shipped out. Production times are pretty unpredictable but for the most part they have very fast service.
