The first puzzle is complete. I took James West's advice and made this one from a skewb, rather a Meffert's Mickey Mouse Ball. Milliput (2 packages!) were added to the ball. Then it was sanded down and painted with model enamel, a mixture of flat and glossy. Stickers were cut from 3 mil vinyl used by sign makers.
http://home.ec.rr.com/specialpuzzles/Index.htmThanks to Jaap Scherphuis for the sanding trick (scramble it while you are sanding to get all the angles right) and to Mark Longridge for the secret to finding adhesive sheet vinyl. Thanks to Denny Dedmore and Hendrik Haak for posting photos of (Tony Fisher's?) rhombic dodecahedra. And finally, thanks to Wayne Johnson for this wonderful forum.
Whew! Sounds like a movie star at the Oscar's! Hey, I know the puzzle is not that great, okay? But it was fun to build!
Next puzzle will be a rhomdo built from a 2x2x2.
