Hi,

I had an idea for a twisty puzzle the other day. From my perspective, it would be impossible to create this puzzle. However, I've seen a lot of seemingly impossible puzzle designs that came to life somehow  so maybe some of you might see a way of designing this puzzle. It twists around the corner, but around the opposite axis of a regular cornerturning cube, as seen in the image below.

You can download the sketchup-model here.

I would love to hear some thoughts on this.

Cheers

Very cool idea! At first, I thought this was GelatinBrain 3.9.1, but that one turns about a face of the 2x2x2 block. I'm kind of surprised GelatinBrain doesn't have this one or the one with the opposite axis turn. You should ask him to include it in the simulator.

The best possible way to answer the queston 'could this be made?' is to quote Jesse Pinkman from 'breaking bad'.

That was my first guess too but looking closely, it's the style of 3.9.1 combined with the axis of rotation of 3.11.1

You can simulate this motion on 3.11.1 with 2-clicks per cube-corner: URF', RFU
