I think that Calvin should release a series of 4x4x6 cuboids. This would be somewhat easy for him as he already has the molds for the 4x4x4 extended sides that create the 4x4x6 (aka the Babyfaces). I think this would be an easy way to approach the 4x4x4 version of the cross cube, and it would be a whole new set of puzzles for collectors to collect without buying multiple 4x4x6 puzzles. Plus, it could possibly be out in time for Christmas.

What I meant by Babyfaces was the two outer layers on the 4x4x6. I believe that the mold used to make the groove part of the 4x4x6 inner corner that holds an outer corner could be used in multiple parts per corner to support more than one outer corner per inner corner. Do you get what I mean?

Without disassembling it to check for sure, i don't know, but what BelcherBoy is saying is that if the corners of the 4x4 section of the puzzle are made up of three equal sized pieces pushed together like the 3x3x5 series (Think dayan gem corners) then you could assemble them with two or 3 slots for the exterior faces very easily. Whether the centres etc would all work with this configuration I have no idea. I would be very interested to find out though! :D

I think its a real possibility that this will be in the works some time soon. Calvin knows his business very well indeed and chances are he'll bring this concept into reality. That being said its not a case of assembly as some pieces have to be specially built to hold parts on more than one axis (thats just my take on it). But there will come a day when he or someone else will thats for sure.
