A helicopter skewb can be made by adding a layer onto a spherical cube, so I think a helicopter skew by 2 can be made by adding a layer onto the skewb 2x2?

Does a mechanical skewb 2x2 even exist? I know tomz was going to print one some time ago, but I dont know if it worked out.

The helicopter skew by 2 would have VERY interesting jumbling...

I designed a skewb-by-2 a while ago, and the problem with adding a helicopter cube is that the centers must be split up into 6 parts, which proves to be too much in design.

Then, to compensate for small centers, could a curvy copter skewb by 2 be stably made?

the curvy copter cuts could also be misproportioned like on the curvy copter skewb.

No, because the centers will still be the same size on both puzzles, they're just hidden on the helicopter cube. They will still be split up into 6 parts, and like I said, is too much to be stable.
