I recently won a Whirligig but unfortunately when it arrived one of the wheels was jammed and one of the knobs was broken off as in the pictures:



Does anyone know how to disassemble this puzzle? Is it possible to push the white circles at the back and remove the cover that way - it doesn't seem like it.

I saw in this post about a broken corner that it may be possible to drill through the back of the puzzle and join the two pieces with a screw again - I'm not sure if this will unstick the wheel or not though.

Any advice appreciated!

I don't have this puzzle but I would approach it like any other. Examine the puzzle closely. Look for seams and note where the go. Also look for signs of tabs along the seems and traces of glue. Gently Push, slide, tap, prise etc based on what you have learnt from your examination. Think of it as a disassembly puzzle you need to solve.
There is of course a strong chance that it will be glued too firmly to disassemble without breaking it.
