As my modding skills approach zero I tend to just parts from other cubes for anything I make so if you are interested here is how I made it:

I realised when I took the 2x2x4 apart that the regular circle 2x2 would be better as all the pieces are easy to sand down. Just sand off the little circle bumps

After some trial and error I found lining the pieces up like this to work the best:

Then add some glue in here: (awkward to take a picture at the right angle)

It's a very easy mod with good movement and fun to solve - I highly recommend it!
