I received an order a few days back and Shapeways left out the core for the puzzle but included a piece from some other twisty puzzle that I don't recognize. Are you missing this piece?

If so my core is probably in your order.

I'm also curious what puzzle this piece belongs to. If I had to guess I'd say its from a "hybrid" (mixed cut-type such as Flower Copter) cube.

That's from a SuperX.

That's funny, I would have known that if I'd waited one more day since I'm supposed to have a SuperX print arriving tomorrow. I don't see how it could be from my own print since they were separate orders and went into production at completely different times. I'll suppose I'll find out tomorrow.

Do you suppose this is a side effect of Shapeways' WSF backlog? It seems to be happening a lot lately.

Once Adam Cowan and I received each others puzzle cores. His was 12 armed and mine was 8. I stared long and hard convincing myself it wasn't mine.

The SuperX print arrived today. At first I thought I was missing 3 of two different pieces and 1 of another piece but I realized tom bandaged one of the corners in such a way that this group of 3 + 3 + 1 + a corner are all one piece.

Which means my print is not missing any pieces.

Now to figure out how to assemble this thing :D .

I remember that! I was just starting to assemble an Identity Crisis puzzle and I noticed that the core was short a few arms... Luckily this community is small (even smaller when that happened), and I knew Jason was working on his Compy Cube at the time which matched the number of arms in the core I had.

Well I received my own core

My TomZ Master FTO order was placed separately and arrived about 2 weeks later with two cores. One of them is the Split Jing's Pyraminx core and the other is the Master FTO core. The cores are nearly the same except the Split Jing's Pyraminx core has larger diameter arms.
