i will place bellow some picture and comments on a Dogic that i fixed

please i know i am newbie to puzzle making and so, also i know that my attempts are humble but my intention is just to show some friends this projects how i am dealing with then...

1) before i fix this dogic it was like this picture bellow taken by the old owner with a very good digital camera, it had all pieces SUPERGLUED and was used just for sight i mean just for observation, last owner sold me at very small price and was very nice to me giving me an awesome opportunity...



2) next pictures show how glued it was and how i started to take the pieces apart and un-glue then, as you can see many of then was a mess and broke during the "un-glue" process







3) next picture is just a joke, it is the dogic i left some weeks under water, with the towel on the table
and the art-deco lamp reflected in the water it became a 70's psicodelic picture



4) the next picture shows the process of cleaning, using finger nail remover and sand paper to let the pieces smother, all pictures except the first one are taken using my cell phone that is very poor quality nowadays, are placed here just to document this process...















5) now the following are pictures of the reassembly of the puzzle after cleaning all the mess and core fixing that was not tied as an original one,

the external tiles i got here at Brazil, a friend and puzzle collector Fabio aka "fbgrac" kindly supplied me with this external tiles so i needed to add some mefferts to replace the tiles that were ruined during the process...

6) finally the next pictures show the DOGIC complete, it is turning and no piece is glued anymore

i wrapped it on PVC film to avoid poping pieces during the handling of the puzzle, hope i will get some day a new core and some internal pieces and make it work

Someone superglued....

a DOGIC!?!?!?!

Nice job on the restoration, but... Between this and the Dogic-in-the-fan incident, there needs to be some kind of Dogic Rights Protection group.

Thanks for sharing. Dogic parts are pretty strong so I can't imagine how it got that way. Even if you drop kicked it I would be surprised if anything other than the core would break.

Yes, crazy that, i thought the same and asked the old owner before buying it, if he knew if the puzzle was hollow or had the internal parts and pieces and he did not know the answer, he told me that was superglued and was useless

so i paied to see and when i start to unassembly it, i realise that was not only a drop here and there, but the guy did used a lot of superglue



sure, as soon as i have posted in here today, it reminds me this "dogic-in-fan incident"

that is something we might do when we were young and did not think before doing things...



Tony the parts and pieces including screws, springs, the core, tiles, everything were all superglued at an extreme level...

i guess that the guy who did that was desperated

Yes, you are right, it had a broken core, i could check that because there were some tries for fixing it before superglueing

so this "core fixing" did not worked and pieces kept falling apart so some old owner decided in a "out of mind state" superglue all stuff

sounds like something we might do when we had no experience and no patience like when you are young as i said above, in my opinion

Sorry, I missed that bit. I understand now how the other parts became broken. I also had some Dogic parts to unglue when I figured it would make more sense to turn my unfinished Rhomball back into a Dogic.

And why would someone super-glue a dogic? Madness

I guess they figured it was lost for good. Instead of having a pile of parts at least they could have it to look at. I bet more than 99% of the time (actual time I mean) any single puzzle (excluding a speedcubers practise puzzle) in any of our collections could be in a glued together state without making any difference.
