Just another idea: a cubic 3x3x4. And before they come and say that's already made, I mean a 3x3x4 that can turn like a 3x3x4 or 3x3x3 (like the c4u 3x3x5 and 3x3x7). I was thinking a bandaged 6x6 (top and bottom layers bandaged like a 3x3, middle like a 3x3x2. Will post a picture of what th stickers would look like after i am done. I would do it to to fill the obvious gap between the 3x3x3 and 3x3x5 cubic. Would this work?

You could bandage a 6x6 to look like a cubic 3x3x4. I also remembered that Mr. Shanko designed a 3x3 with a split core and put it on shapeways. You could buy that and add some regular rubik's cube pieces to it, but then again it hasn't been prototyped yet

Could you post a link to the shapeways puzzle? Or if not, how much does it cost?

I just found out this thing costs $50 so it might actually be cheaper to bandage a v-cube 6.

My idea would be use apoxie sculpt (10$) to bandage a v cube (40$) so not really cheaper...

I meant that bandaging the v-cube might be cheaper. I think I just misunderstood something

Shapeways puzzle($50) + Shipping($10 est.) + Screws bolts and washers($3) + 3x3($10)= $73

Bandaging a 6x6 = $50

(I think, I estimated a lot)

Of course, the split core would make a better puzzle...
