I asked Hanyama if they would ever make a standard size black body 6 color version.
And they said "No, Because it looks difficult to fit in Japanese market"

Nice!
Has anyone successfully dyed one yet? If so, any tips?

Yes, but I'm wondering about this puzzle specifically. Disassembly issues, etc.

I finally had a chance to dye my iQube 1x2x5: Note that the stickers are hand cut from vinyl sheet and were made to cover the labels that came on the puzzle. In fact, they've were applied over the original labels, removed (so I could remove the stock labels) and reapplied, then removed (for the dying) and reapplied again. So if they look a little battle damaged, they've earned it. I plan to order replacements from Olivér Nagy. The dying went well. The process is a bit tricky as the puzzle can't be disassembled and hence it both floats and partially fills with the solution, requiring some effort to first keep it submerged, and later to get it dry. I left it overnight in an "x" shape to air out, then all day flat on an absorbent paper towel and it seems to have fully dried. I started off with far too little acetone so the color was being taken up very slowly - only a gradual darkening over 40 minutes. Once I upped the concentration - the puzzle darkened very quickly, getting nearly jet black in 15 minutes. Even after that, the inside of the "deep cut" turn was still red when I checked so I made the mistake of adding more acetone; the result is a bit cloudy and there are slight blemishes in the plastic where I squeezed too hard with tongs when the plastic had softened, but it's not noticeable with the stickers.
