Pretty self-explanatory, is it easy(or even possible) to unbandage one of the crazy 3x3 planet cubes so that the center circles turn independently, the same way you would need to make it if you were going to make a cross cube out of one.
I know with the witeden super 3x3's it is as easy as filing down the base of the center caps, I am hoping that is the same method that is used on the planet cubes.
Thanks!

Just take the puzzle apart and take out the little pieces that make a sphere.

Some of the centers have round stems. They are stationary because pieces slide around them. They are fixed to the core because an oval piece (actually not exactly oval) goes into the core. The rotating circle are shorter (don't reach into the core) and are have square shaped stems. You can cut the oval part away on the round centers and shape the square ones round. But the way most people do it is by just taking some pliers and capping the stems away completely. The centers can't sink inside or anything because the plastic of other pieces is still below. I don't know about stability but it seems to work. So just cut the stems away and you are done.
