We were talking about shapemodding a Helicopter Cube into a dodecahedron in another thread, but the topic inadvertently hijacked the entire thread, so I'm moving it here.
...Yeah, that's all, really.

Could you clarify which pieces are which?

The small piece at roughly the center of each face is the center. The two large corners that touch it are the Helicopter Cube corners. The pieces at the middle of each edge that are styled as megaminx edges are the triangle pieces of helicopter cubes. This leaves 5 pieces. They are the ones exposed on Tom's Curvy Copter II.

Very nice. Would the new shape cause any bandaging at all?

I don't know how to do that yet. It might have different overhang bandaging but besides that it is just a Helicopter Cube transformation. You should note this isn't a finished puzzle ready to be printed, I just wanted to test out how it looks. Also I think this concept should stay open source so please don't think that I have "reserved" this puzzle for myself by posting these pictures.

Actually, PM6262 your heli dodecube is way too deep, what GoombaGeek wanted to see was the pure equivalent onto a dodecahedron. If you mod a heli cube you get this dodec, which I won't make because you can't mod a heli as deep as that (which was possible on the heli barrel) Enjoy

May you please give me a link to the origional thread this was talked about in?
I agree that that is a way better Helicopter Dodecube.
Mine should be named something like Megaminx Wanabe or something like that because I designed it to look and function similar. This would allow the Wanabe series of Megaminx, Pyraminx Crystal, Starminx, and Pentultimate variations.

I did have something like that in mind (not the exact design, but the fact that most of the faces should be similar).
