I saw the Super X recently, and that got me thinking about other puzzle designs that combine. Then I realized something...

...combining a Skewb and a Pocket Cube somehow would result in something that looks exactly like a Helicopter Cube, but has a dual function. So, two questions: has anyone already done this, and if not, is it even possible?

I would call it the Airplane Cube or the Airplane Skewb, due to it being related to a Helicopter Cube but functioning differently.

I even drew up an amazingly crappy diagram in MS Paint!

Now that you bring up that post again, has it ever been published stickered and all? I don't remember seeing a thread for it, but I might have missed it.

Wow...

I like "Airplane Skewb" better than "Skewb-by-2", but then that's just me.

Is is on Shapeways anywhere?

I feel like airplane skewb should be the name of the sought after copter-by-skew-by-2, which is the only puzzle that is still missing from that series...

skew by 2: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=15591
helicopter skewb: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=18695&hilit=helicopter+skewb
helicopter 2x2: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=19994

Yeah. The helicopter skewb mechanism blows my mind... O.o

So the copter-skewb-by-2 would combine 3 puzzles in one? That would end up really complicated, considering the complexity of just a skewb + helicopter cube... but it amazes me how one set of cuts can have 4 unique puzzles from it.

I don't like the name airplane skewb or skewb by 2. In my opinion, Bram's opinion is the best, Skewbik! (I have no idea why I remember this)

Turning a Skewbik into a Helicopter Skewbik wouldn't be too much harder than making a Helicopter Skewb. In fact, I'll try my hand at designing one to see which part would be the hardest to make. I'm thinking it will be the 2x2x2 ontop of the inner skewb.

And Oskar and Tony Fisher.

I've seen things like that happen on the Minecraft Forums, where the three most experienced mod-programmers teamed up to create an entirely new realm... not sure the current status of that project but the work going into it was at awesome levels of even more awesome.

Actually, if those 3 get together I'd like to see them make a Big Chop. Combined with a Petaminx, sort of like the Master Brillic. Then made into a void Big Chop Petaminx. Then make two more and fuse them.

TRIPLE VOID FUSED MASTER BIG CHOP PETAMINX
