I was thinking, the hardest part of making a 6x6x6 is the corners, right? A 6x6x6 cubeoctahedron would not have corners, so couldn’t that be made with greater ease than a normal 6x6x6?

I'm surprised we haven't seen any replies. Did everyone rush out and try to build one?

Friend:

I have made a design about 10 years ago for a 6 cube and wrote to one person. He wrote to me saying no body is interested in this any more. So ai forgot about it. When I checked by internet on Rubiks cube I find there is some interest still. What is the market demand on this now? I am just curious to see if my design is worth anything ?Any way I hope to hear from you.

I think there is huge demand among people who visit this forum. The question is: can you get the price low enough that it would sell to a larger audience?

Seventowns is the firm that can help someone to produce a 6x6x6. You can not produce a Rubik like 6x6x6 without submitting fees because of protections of Rubik's trademarks, colorscheme etc. But still you need to prove it work so a prototype is needed.

I know there are at least 3 different 5x5x5 makers so I don't believe you would need to go through seventowns or anyone else with a non-patented (read: non-copied) rubik type 6x6x6 design.

There is a high demand for such a cube on this site (I'm sure almost every regular poster would want at least one) and I know I would buy one. There is someone on this site that has a prototype in progress but it doesn't seem to be progressing anymore. I would buy one from whomever can make it for a reasonable price. I say go for it and put me on the list.
