how do you make cuboctahedrons from say, a bump cube? do you draw line that resemble a skewb on the cube, then cut off the skewb "corners"? and are the bump cube pieces large enough so that the whole thing doesnt just fall apart? (im worried about the thinnest layer.)

I believe it will, just make sure you don't cut into the mechanism when doing so.

yes filling the pieces with milliput or any epoxy putty will work for you.
Just remember to sand the putty to a nice finish.

The only problem with filling the entire pieces makes the puzzle very heavy. I'd recommend searching the web to see if you can buy any plastic sheeting from there.

I would go to local stores that offer gift cards and see if they have used ones that they were going to trash. I have a bag full of giftcards from some places.
