Hi!

I just realized that an Edge Turn Pyraminx could be made from the new Dayan III cube. those pieces are anchered so deep into the puzzle, that they can be completely hidden on the Tetrahedron shape.

Could this be the method SmaZ used to make his?

I know I will be making this puzzle at some point now. What demed impossible (possible but HARD) with earlier cubes is now possible thanks to DaYan! :)

right?

hehe... :P

his puzzle is not correctly proportional. Look at the center of the puzzle. The tips of those triangles are cut off. This has to do with the underlying corner. The reason why I post my "idea"/method is to get rid of this problem.

If I had not seen Traiphum's I would have never thought it would ever be possible without 3d design.
ps. Traiphum's is so old

It's theoretically impossible to make a perfectly proportionate edge turning pyraminx, just like you can't make a perfectly proportional 7x7x7. You need to cheat a little bit. Triaphum's done that and Smaz's done it too but just slightly more subtle.

I have another idea! If you look at the Dayan Octahedron very carefully, you can see holes in the center of each face- unnoticeable unless you're trying to find them. If you used a deep-cut (mech-wise) cube, like the YJ or Dayan II/III, you'd be able to get away with having a small-enough-to-be-unnoticeable hole in the center of each face, that allows a corner stalk to be put in.
I thought, though, that if you cut down a Dayan II you'd get a mastermorphix with a really awesome face pattern. I'd like to see that too!

I believe that Triaphum's method uses a 3x3 as the core. Would it be possible to make a Mastermorphix + Pyraminx?

How did they cheat on the X-cube 7 then? :P
