 Post subject: Square-1 PLL method

In 2005 I came up with an easy method to permute the last layer (if you solve that way) of the Square-1. I just kept forgetting algorithms, even those I had found myself. So I wanted something I wouldn't forget.

Never heard your voice before. Besonders auf englisch...

I've actuallly used that alg for lots of different purposes, but I've never seen it used this way...
It's really nice though; I'd start using it if only I didn't solve edges last and the 3-cycle is almost comprised of finger tricks. I'll probably use it if I forget the algs after a bit of practice...

Will you make a reference sheet? I'll make one if you won't...

P.S. You used this for BLD, right? Now I know what you meant...

What kind of reference sheet? And yes, I've used this for blindsolving it. Just for making up 3-cycles of edges and corners, though.

Ah, ok. No, I didn't intend to make one. Actually I don't even know all cases, I always just look for what quarters swap would connect more pieces that belong together. If you want to make one, go ahead. If you put it on your website (nice magic designs, btw), let me know and I'll link to it from my page. I'm interested in this now, I must admit I'm not 100% sure all cases can be covered with 4 repetitions, I just never needed more.

Also, I *do* intend to finally become good at Square-1 this year so if you want to keep your record, be warned.

Oh, it's on. So is BLD. (I just happened to DNF three times at Caltech Winter)

I use that algorithm, but I only use it for solving corners.

I use a different method for solving edges.

Stefan, how would you swap two opposite pieces, as far as I know, the algorithm in the video wouldn't work

So yes, using only this method it's not possible to swap two pieces.

I had actually started to make a video of me showing and explaining how to fix parity, but I messed up the talking/showing too much and it would've gotten too long compared to the other stuff and I decided that it's a separate issue anyway and that my way to fix parity isn't that cool. I found what I show in the above video more interesting.
