Would anyone be interested in cubing for charity? More specifically the victims of the recent tornadoes that destroyed so much, and cost 20 people their lives. What i'm thinking about doing, is getting local stores and shops to sponsor me in a cube marathon, $x for every cube i solve. I plan on donating this money to charities like Habitat for Humanity.
As i was thinking about this, i thought that it would be even cooler if we could turn this into sort of a competition! People all across the country and world could all cube for charity at the same time, and by IM or something send updates to the other cubes on their progress.
So possibly, we could all goto a public place, a mall, a park, or something. And all cube to help these people in Florida. And maybe have a little thing set up so that people can see that other people all around the country are helping too.
Would anyone else be interested in donating an hour or so of their time to cube and help people in Florida rebuild? If so lemme know and maybe we can organize something.

Heh, i'm sure you could help. Solving a rubik's cube in 2 minutes is considered lightning fast to most people.
Also, tyson suggested that we sell rubik's cubes for $20, and that would help donate to the cause. Also, he was talking about teaching people how to cube as well.

Scott, make sure you get permission to sell the Rubik's cube... don't want to get caught up in legal matters. May sound silly, but with all the legal/copyright stuff going on in the world, I'd hate to see you get busted for something this trivial....
Good luck with it

no, she's Santa Clauses sister's gf... lol, of course "Queen Mymom" is his mom!
with that hilarity aside, i would like to help any way i can. But getting together to meet, esp in Florida, is kindof hard for me, considering i live a few hundred miles away.
On the better note, i do have a crapload of friends who i just got into cubing, so i should be able to recruit some people to help...
