Hey, I got my 2x2 today, lubed and assembled, printed out algs for the guidmond method.
Now...which ones to I memorize first?
I was thinking the first step, because I can do the last (not in 1 move though) already and I can do the 2 with intuition.
And are there any tips for recognizing?
Any tips at all for anything?
Thanks.

You could always try it out yourself first before asking. I know you're eager to learn, but most of the time, figuring it out yourself is much more rewarding. After all, what's even the point of a puzzle if you just ask people how to solve it?

no offense quinn, but your post makes no sense at all.
first of all i am not asking how to solve it, i know how, i am just asking for tips on how to reduce my speeds through recognition and stuff.
like for overall general puzzling go slow and look ahead. like just little tips like that but tips specified for the guimond system.

basically quinn is saying you can't magically get an answer to reduce your times. figure it all out yourself and work hard at it for the best results.

Take time to learn the method, then when you hit a wall, ask for help.
There is nothing better for improving your ability to use a method than experimenting.
Once you get the gist for the first few algs, try to figure out the rest by yourself.
I have done that with F2L on the 3x3, and have found it VERY rewarding, and also helped me drop my times.

there you go, you just answered your own question.
P.S. - hold the 2 initial colors you're trying to orient on L and R, not U and D.
