Anti-hijack!

I got a 3.20 today (!), and a 3.59 video (which should be on strangepuzzle in a couple of days)... yay. I can actually see how you'd get sub-2 now.

First off, no, i don't have a snake. i talked about one, but that doesn't mean i have one lol...

oh, and you should pick on Pembo while you still can, if there's anything i've learned it's that you have a chance at beating him one day, then the next he's twice as fast as you.

How much time do you spend doing puzzles pembo? It seems like you
spend a lot of your free time doing puzzles  .

On an average school day, I get home at 5.30 pm, and I go to sleep at 12pm, that gives me 6½ hours of awake time. Take 30 minutes off for showering, an hour/two for gaming and about 20 minutes to eat. That leaves me with about 3 hours at least which I spend puzzling....which isn't that much.

However, I seem to have an efficient method of practising. There is a theory that has been devised called the 20/80 rule:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareto_principle

When considering this in terms of practise, I don't just spend a full hour block practising a puzzle, I pick up others, post a little on here, talk on MSN, sing songs, go for a wander to get a drink which increases the efficiency of my practise.

Weekends are a different matter though :)

3 hours isn't much? i think i usually set aside about an hour 1/2 to 2 hours cubing.... i would say puzzling, but cubes are the only puzzles i really have right now, so meh.

i can't say that i really have a plan worked out tho, i usually just cube for like half an hour straight before bed... maybe it calms me down? i dunno, lol.

I set aside 1 min to almost all awake time doing puzzles. Heh... I take 20
30 min showeres every day. I should try the 20/80 rule.

Work 80%, relax 20%.

It's clear on that site, but I read it on another and I don't have the link.

It basically means that smaller, more concise short practises gives a better efficiency than a long one.

Work 80%, relax 20%.

Not necessarily, working for 20% can give an 80% efficiency, where as working for 80% may only give 20%.

It's all about what you spend your time doing, not how long you spend.

@Firewezul: yes you do spell Padawan like that.

Just remembered something about my good old hardcore gamer days.
I used to spend at least 8 hours per day playing Counter Strike 1.6 :)

awww man... ENJOY THIS TIME PEMBO!!!

ugh, i miss the days spending all day leveling up characters in Final Fantasy.
I miss spending countless hours just playing a game over and over.

I miss waking up picking up where I left off from the night before after spending all day on it :P

I thought it wouldn't happen when I got older lol. damn the good ol' days.

heck I don't even play much poker being a tourney lasts several hours that I don't have to spare :(

OK, time for me to be different from the crowd. There are very few games that i can sit down and play for more than an hour, and never more than 2... except for halo 2 online, or elder scrolls oblivion. Both of these things i don't have tho (getting XBL soon!) so i don't really play games much.

are you saying that there is nothing fun left in life? There has to be something fun, anyone can find something simple or complex to amuse them in some way, whether it involves being with other people or simply doing something one your own.

PB solve is 8 seconds, PB average is 9.99 (sub 10, barely :D)

so how am i doing for 3 days with this puzzle?

oh, and fire, the Team Jesus thing is something that Kyle A started, it's more along the lines of a big joke (with 11 people in the team!). Basically we are dominating the Monday Contest, lol.

Omg dude, that would be awesome!! No, i'm sub 10 for the snake now... I have trouble getting my solves down to 8 seconds tho, i'm usually in the high 9 range...
