Hey, I got my DIY today, and some textured tiles, standard cubesmith...
I haven't completed the cube yet, but I felt the tiles, and they seem more slip-prone that stickers!
The DIY also came with 2 sets of really nice looking stickers...so I am wondering what should I use?

I'd use stickers. I'm not a big fan of tiles.

Stickers suck, no matter what kind they are they will tear and rip, even if they don't peel off...
The tiles are fine, as long as you don't sweat profusely (I like the smooth tiles better but textured are good too).

I've never had stickers tear or rip. I think you should just see what you like the most.

actually. I've never tried the cubesmith tiles. They seem pretty thin. The ones I tried were really thick. That may be why I don't like it.
When cubesmith sells "rubik's" stickers, are they from Rubiks.com or are they custom? are they any good?

Well even cubesmith's standard 3x3x3 stickers ripped for me. Maybe I'm just rough with stickers lol.

I have never tried tiles, but I don't see why people give stickers so much grief.
I love stickers, aslong as they are put on properly, they shouldn't tear.
I have had mine on for months now, playing with it for atleast an hour a day, atleast 6 at the UK Open and my stickers aren't tearing.

Hmm, thats wierd. I've been using my tiles for over a year (since world cube 05), and they still work great. I've never had a problem with them slipping.

Tiles are fine, stickers are fine. There's nothing wrong with either, assuming you're getting them from Cubesmith.

The textured tiles are slippy, but they look great.
They are on my cube, that is at my girlfriends house.
I like how they feel, but I would never put them on my speedcube.
BTW.

Most likely. I think that was just a translation error.

scott, i think he means that the textured tiles feel slippery to hold, not that they slip on the cube
but i completely agree, the feel kindof slippery when you hold them, esp when you sweat... i guess they teach you to take your time, and don't sweat!! lol.

I went to the exploritorium recentally (saterday the 13th) and I got to feel
the difference between the textured tiles and the smooth ones. Personally I
like the smooth ones and I agree with cuben00b, the textured ones feel
slippery.
