The Meffert's with tiles looks quite nice yet...on stefan pochmann's website, sorry if i spelled that wrong, he says that their springs are really long, therefore a very tight megaminx.

Yes the Meffert's versions are quite nice. I dunno if it's 100% HIT rate, but I have two of them, the first one being pretty good, the second one didn't need much time breaking in. But after 2 years my first one is really smooth.

The plastic are a bit thicker than the others out there. There's some knock offs out there as well. I haven't touched those so I can't really say they are worse or better.


I'd go with the Meffert's - and ask Uwe (or Jing) to see if they have the 6 colored version as well (They had both the 12 and 6 colored ones in the past).

while we are on the subject... how do you pronounce megaminx in conversation?? lol it's a confusing word...

The puzzle is simply pronounced mega - minx. I don't know how this is confusing.

'x' is generally pronounced as 'cs' or 'ks' so i guess we're both right.
