Is anyone here going to the Open Championships in Leeds?
I should be, if I can convince my dad to take me (which shouldn't be hard).
Details can be found here:
http://www.cubestation.co.uk/cs2/index. ... 2006/index
Hope to see some of your faces there, I know Rich from PuckPuzzles.com should be there, he is sponsoring the event.

Maybe the world record will get smashed for the third time this year? Who knows?

I have signed up for 3x3, 4x4 and Magic.

I don't stand a chance at winning any of them, but it's still going to be a laugh. I have also sent an email asking about a square - 1 contest, if any one else is interested, could you please send them an email and hopefully we will get one.

I'm going and competing in everything apart from megaminx.

Hoping to steal a few UK records :)

I think the lack of events is due to time. I'd much rather see a 2x2x2 event than square-1.

Rich: are you definatly going? If so could you bring along an IQ 139? I'd like to buy one :)

Rich is the main sponsor, so I would guess he would be bringing a few of each puzzles. I'll try and get my 2x3x3 finished by it too.

Just wondering, my Magic is missing two paper inserts, can I still use it?

Edit:
Quote:
HI David,

It is possible that we could organise something unofficial during the tournament, a side event or so. But I’m afraid that it is very unlikely that we would have enough competitors to justify having a square-1 event and using time that could be dedicated to other events. However, if enough people suggest that they would like a sq-1 competition then we will add it to the list!

Thanks for registering, and see you there!

Dan Harris :)

I doubt that will go on then, but if you want a 2x2 contest, I would be up for it, but I don't have a Rubik's 2x2 only and Eastsheen one. But I would be willing to ask for one.

You can use an eastsheen one, I think.

About the magic, I think you can use it. They let people use harry potter ones :S

Then again, you could always borrow someone elses.

You'll have to ask dan about that one.

Well.. Master Magic Single/Avg, 3x3x3BLD, clock and maybe even 3x3x3 Avg? :) But I'm sure you can beat the current record quite easily aswell. It's only 18.20 :)

Oooh! I need to show you my 4x4x4 method :D

Yeah, it's possible. But it's all on the day, as with most of these things. I broke my best average of 5 recently, I'm doing these for competition practice now.

Make sure you spread the word about the UK Open, I want to have at least 30 people competing in 3x3x3!

Dan :)

I'd like there to be a pyraminx, 2x2x2, and a puck competition in it.

Almost no competition in the world ever has Pyraminx, and no competition has ever had a puck competition...
