i am looking for an algorithm that moves 3 edges on the last layer for the megaminx. it has to move only those 3 pieces and nothing else and not misorient them. similar to this but for a megaminx

Adam,

I use a 2 gen that someone here taught me
RUR'UR'U'R2U'R'UR'UR

Make sure to do the R2 clockwise. This will cycle R>BR>BL edges.

good luck

sweet thats what i wanted. it doesnt come up that often in my solves but i want to know it just in case

is there another alg for 3 non adjacent edges? or do you just do setup moves at the begining and end. ie: (LU'L'U) RUR'UR'U'R2U'R'UR'UR (U'LUL')

Hehe, I should learn how to solve the megaminx faster :D Lucas Garron could be quite fast if he had a good method. He has a very high turning speed, but he has a long method.

From me? About permuting edges without affecting corners? Nah, I don't know a single alg for that (except for slow trivial methods). I solve edges first, then corners, remember? Much much easier to affect corners without affecting edges than the other way around.

I solve everything intuitively except 3 corners (or sometimes 3 c/e-pairs) and then use a commutator... I'm very slow, but this is interesting. 8-)

i will make a video as soon as i understand the megaminx better. i am learning alot of algs and the last layer has a bunch of algorithms i want to learn before i give a video a shot. i basically am relearning how to solve a megaminx. i do have a personal best of 3:22 i am shooting for sub 3 minute and adventually sub 2. i am waiting for a new megaminx as well because the one i have is hard to turn and pops alot.

yeah piece of crap!! I hate when my mega pops right when I'm about to solve the last few layers! Man I need to go to bed. I'm gettin all emotional about this. ... but I do really hate that.

I was having the same problem and tried the directions on Stefan's site. It's probably easier than you think to tighten the screws.

Thanks (again) Stefan, by the way.
