This Tuesday (August 15th) I will solving Rubik's cubes as a promotion for Chick-fil-a. People will be able to challenge me to see if they can beat me, and if the do they get free chicken sandwiches for a month. :) This will be at the Chick-fil-a in Wyomissing, PA (FSU #1384). The times are 5PM - 7PM. So if anyone lives near this store, come on in and try to win some sandwiches.

That sounds like a lot of fun.

Free chicken for a month sounds awesome, I love chicken. If only I didn't live 2,500 miles away...

I can see it now... after insanity_cubed takes down 150 people in a row... "ha ha ha! you got OWNED! Come back when you learn Fridrich. All right! Who's next?" (a familiar looking Asian gentleman walks up with a one of a kind, custom designed speed cube) "*gasp!* uh... uh... oh crap. I'm screwed. You know what, Leyan? I don't need to race you. You win. In fact, wait here a moment. I'll be right back." "Here. Here's the deed to the store. Just take it."

How did you get the gig? Did they decide on a Rubik's competition and put an ad in the paper? Or did they know you before?

Actually, I work there. Part-time job for saving money for college. I brought my cube to work a few times, impressed everyone, and my boss thought of this promotion. Of course, my boss is betting on the theory that noone will beat me. It was originally only going to be one free combo, then he changed it to the month of sandwiches. When I found out about that, I started thinking, "Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap..." Because that meant that instead of loosing $5 for a combo, he was loosing some $80 worth of sandwiches.

I average around 17-18 sec. My pb average is 16.90 sec and my pb single is 13.46 sec. :) I know of three people in PA who are about that speed or better (Quinn Lewis, Jason Baum, and Joe Spadafora), but they all live over an hour away. If you know anyone else, send them in. I love for someone to beat me (that's the best motivation to get faster). Also, even if you're not that fast, come on in. I like meeting other cubers.

-Bill

PS. If any of that sounded like I was being cocky or putting people down because they're not sub-20, that's NOT what I was trying to do. I can't type a tone of voice.
