I need to get the F2L faster. right now I can get it in about 17 seconds. tell me how long it takes you to get these steps.

step 1---6 seconds

step 2---5 seconds

step 3---depends on how many bad edges

step 4---4 seconds

step 4a--3 seconds

do you recomend learning the algs for 6+7 I know all the ones for 5+6.

I don't think I'm very good at block building.

Here is what i use with additional shortcuts and way more algorithms. It is a beginners method i wrote for a few friends who thought lars' site was too difficult, but you might find it useful, it also shows how to solve every single piece fom almost every position leading up to OLL, so it is very easy to understand this method if you are new or trying to get a few extra shortcuts out of it.

http://www.freewebs.com/cubesolution/

The most important thing for OLL is being able to do each OLL from (at least) 2 different locations, for instance if you get a sune you should be able to solve it without doing and U turns to start.

I have all the OLLs there for petrus method, but i also have alot more for solving each from different angles so i can give you those if you want too.I've replaced alot of my PLL's with ones from katsu's website as well as stefan's website, so i only use half of what is on the petrus website in a solve.

compared to me it looks like you do the LL backwards. also after studying your site I got 23s and 24 while solving pretty consistintly. I'm also experimenting with this really neat cube solver. you can tell it to ignore all te pieces except the ones you want to put in place or twist. It does what I used to do in 12 or 13 moves in 7 or 8.

Be on AIM tonight at 8 I think we are in the same time zone.

step 1 - 1.5 seconds
step 2 - 3 seconds
step 3 - 3 seconds
step 4a - 3 seconds
step 4b - 1.5 seconds

So I average around 12 secs for F2L. LL is 5-6 I think.

I'm much faster now. I just timed myself for the F2L and got 10.56.
