My speedcube is from walmart and has arched center. its a bit loose for it will pop every now and then, but i have just realized recently that it loves to lock up on me, making my algs a lot slower than they are. Ive been thinking about sanding it down, but if i were to do that, i dont know which peices i can restrict myself to sanding, and if once i do it, itll be too loose and start popping like crazy. If not sand it down, what else should i do. id like to fix this problem so i can break my personal best and just get better times in general.
my other question..
im on the 12th or 13th PLL alg on Shotaro's site. and ive been thinking of switching to katsus from where i am. would this be a bad move, or should i continue with macky's? any advice is appreciated.

The Black DIY cube is that same as the store-bought one except that it comes with screws which you can adjust.
Sanding is an art. If you don't know exactly what you're doing you can ruin a cube.

Clayne,
Use whichever PLL algs are best for you. I personally use about half of Doug Reed's and the rest are from everywhere.
I'm still on the lookout for a better E and N...

I'm pretty much a CLL ELL guy, but I might have alternative algs for you, or figure some out for you. I don't know the PLL slang, so if you give me two algs which create E and N, I'll see what I can come up with.
