I just became aware when I started stickering, that every piece has the type of joining that can be made into `coloured plastic`. It's possible that those who want coloured plastic might be able to wait for this.
I'm going to have to retract this statement, I was deceived. I just pulled the individual piece types apart and I found that one of the piece types isn't appropriate for this. It seems we won't be seeing a coloured plastic version :( .

Here is a photo of the individual piece types. The Megaminx corners and edges are completely interchangeable.

Thanks for the pictures, Burgo. Now that I know the edges can be split apart, I think I will be ordering a few of these soon!

Just be a little bit wary, if your intention is to rebuild them to make different versions:
The centre caps, I found reasonably difficult to remove, it's just hard to get a grip, and they're tapered.
The standard Megaminx edge and corners were easy to separate, no problems there.
But the Fishered ones were more difficult, in particular the smaller `Corner (Fishered edge)`, I wouldn't recommend pulling that apart repeatedly, I reckon you'd damage it easily.

Looking at the map of the BermudaMinx planets, I see that Venus and Saturn both have a parallelogram face on White and one trapezoid face on the opposite side of the puzzle (grey hemisphere). Venus has it on the cream face and Saturn has it on the light blue face. The trapezoids are in a different orientation between the two puzzles and the phase relationship between the parallelogram on the white face and the trapezoid is different. I'm really curious to know what difference - if any - these slight variations makes.

Now that I've had a go at Jupiter and found it very fun, I'm keen to try others in the series, particularly some easier ones, before I tackle Mercury. Here are my takes on the difficulties, please feel free to provide your own experience and analysis. I think that Venus or Saturn will be relatively easy. Uranus looks to be about the same as Jupiter, perhaps a bit harder than Venus and Saturn. Mars looks to be very challenging, similar to Mercury.
