My personal top 5 are:

Hardest 1. Eitan's Star (still working on that one)
2. Crazy b4 Cube series (I know its not mass produced technically but you can create them with the latest Mf8 series of circle cubes)
3. Cubetwist DIY Bandage Kit (you can make a whole host of extremely difficult puzzles with this)
4. Bermuda Earth once you understand the set up moves required it becomes easier much faster
5. Tom z Constrained 90 Degree cube (some may consider this not diffficult but I have had personal issues with it)

This may not be a great list, but this is my top 5 hardest out of puzzles I own.

My List:

1 Crazy tetrahedron uranus.
2 Crazy2Face B4
3 Cube Twist bandaged kit.
4 Bermuda Cubes
5 Crazy Megaminx Earth
6 Bauhinia dodecahedron / faceturning starminx
7 Crazy Cubes

Perhaps Geranium puzzle is the hardest.
I'm waiting for Geranium Puzzle and Eitan star.

My solved mass produced puzzles would rank something like that:
  • Eitan's star - Need a good amount of concentration
  • Latch Cube - There is a very smart "easy" solution, but finding it with no hints is difficult
  • WitEden Camouflage 3x3x3 - Need to understand "what is it" otherwise it is difficult
  • MF8 3x4x5 cuboid - There are complex parities cases that need shapeshift
  • Master Skewb - For some reasons I found this difficult

Honorable mentions:
  • Crazy 3x3x3 Saturn - the hardest "crazy"
  • Crazy 4x4x4 V2
  • Bandaging 3x3x3 with "Cubetwist DIY kit" you can get "close to impossible" puzzles

I suspect "Crazy Tetrahedron Uranus" is more difficult than these (according posts from many TP members) but I did not try it.

Well for me the first is definitely Eitan's Star. Then there's the Geranium which I still am trying to solve but to no avail. My third will be the 3x3x3 Mix Up Plus. I know it's probably not that hard, but I still find it really annoying for some strange reason, probably because I keep forgetting the set-up moves. :D I don't want to think what the 4x4x4 Mix Up Plus is like for me.

Those three are for me personally. I still don't have enough hard puzzles in my collection, so I unfortunately cannot really give another two that I've actually tried out. :(

However looking from what is up right now on hknowstore, I think the bandaging on Justin's Pocket Cube looks hard. I guess that's where getting the Bandage Kit from CubeTwist is probably a good idea. Also, I've seen the solving required for the Dayan Gem VII and it does look like a satisfying challenge. Eventually I'll get these two.

So there's my five. Not that great as I'm still pretty bad at solving in general. :D Challenging enough for me personally at least.

Yes , I agree with you.

I agree, too.
I cannot memorize many sequences. So, I don't like this puzzle. I like puzzles with logic, strategic and intuitive thinking. 4x4x4 AI cube is one good candidate.

For me the hardest mass produced puzzles which I know are:

1. Crazy Megaminx Mars (for me the hardest)
2. The Geranium (if it is a twisty puzzle  )
3. Eitans star (not super difficult but you need heaps of concentration)
4. Wormhole cube III (combines lots of challenges in one single puzzle)
5. Pocket corner cube / 4-colored version (solving is easy but to figure out how to solve this was quite hard :D )

Happy puzzling!

I think this topic has proved most undoubtedly that the Eitan's Star is... pretty hard.

Of the ones I've played with, in no particular order:
1) 4x4x4 mixup plus
2) Face Turning Octahedron
3) 4x4x4 AI Cube (only puzzle I need step by step instructions for! >:()
4) Master Kilominx
5) Some random builds on the 3x3x3 DIY bandaged kit can be really hard

1. Crazy2Face(2N) Venus [otherwise known as Mf8's Crazy 3x3x3 Plus, 4-Circle Version]
2. Crazy Tetrahedron Uranus
3. Eitan's Star
4. Latch Cube
5. Gear Cube Extreme / Even Less Gears [made from two Extreme puzzles]

I'm amazed no one has mentioned my #1. It's the only one of the 5 that I've solved [first in the world??]. The others are currently the top of my "To Solve" list. Also, I don't own a Geranium, but I'll trust rline's rating and assume it would it would make my list if I owned it.

My top 5 (reason):
1. Eitan's Star (could only get slightly more than half intuitively)
2. Bauhinia dodecahedron (last 6 centers and all triangles)
3. Latch cube (nearly impossible without a few hints)
4. 4x4x4 Mixup cube (bandaging)
5. Crazy megaminx Saturn (only one in the series I couldn't solve by myself)

I don't own too many hard puzzles but these are the 5 hardest for me (sticking to mass-produced):
1. Dayan Gem IV (still scrambled)
2. Face-turning Starminx (due to parities, harder than the curvy starminx; the points are very tedious and easy to catastrophically mess up)
3. Sudoku 3x3 (solved it only once)
4. Latch Cube (difficult to remember the solution)
5. 3x3x3 Camouflage Cube (very disorienting)

My actual 5 hardest puzzles:
1. Gemstone I (I get stuck trying to even scramble it!)
2. Master Little Chop (Simply EVIL)
3. Shepard's Megaminx (almost solved, but yet so far away)
4. Platinum Cube (takes a LOT of effort)
5. Ghost Cube (solving around one of the equatorial centers)

Ben the Dayan Gem IV tutorial at rline's site is excellent and easy to follow. A great starting point to understand the puzzle.

The FT Starminx - definitely a toughie. But whatever method you use for solving the curvy starminx should apply to the FTS. Also I wasn't aware there were new parity issues with the FTS not found on the CS, what do you mean?

Shepherd's Megaminx - is this the megaminx you bought from JRCuber with izovire's arrow stickers? I wish I could get me a set of those stickers but he's (izovire) dropped off the earth. I am happy to relieve you of that puzzle. PM if it's for sale!

My list:

1. AI bandage cube
2. Latch I Cube
3. Square-2

and I have three or four unstickered puzzles lying about that I haven't touched yet because they are always on these god awful "hardest puzzle" lists, including Eitan's Star

This is an interesting topic!

My top 5 hardest mass produced twisties are:
  1. Eitan's Star
  2. Bauhinia dodecahedron
  3. Curvy starminx or face turning starminx
  4. Master kilominx (purely for the awful even order parity)
  5. Crazy tetrahedra and pentahedra (I just can't seem to get my head around them!)

Non mass-produced has to be:
Eitan's Master curvy copter
Dan & Traiphum's 5x7x9 ultimate shape shifting cuboid

My top 5 (reason):
1. Geranium (if it is a twisty puzzle)
2. Cubetwist DIY Bandage Kit, Crazy2Face B4, Crazy tetrahedron Uranus (and other bandaged puzzles)
3. Curvy starminx or face turning starminx (presumably, not yet solved)
4. Camouflage series, chimeras: AI bandaged and more (difficult but very interesting)
5. MF8 3x4x5 cuboid, WitEden Mixup Plus Cube 3x3 (parity)

Difficult puzzles not included in this list (the position from 6 :) ):
Gear Extreme, Latch Cube, all Crazy (include mega, tetra and penta), all Bermudas, WitEden Mixup (Plus) and wormholes, Eitan's Star, Bauhinia, Face Turning Octahedron, Cuboids

In my opinion the hardest puzzle is the crazy2f Earth2L.
I gave up to solve it. Perhaps I'll retry it.
Only 2 people solved this cube.
Perhaps the venus2N is a little bit easier.

My 7x7x7 super-super cube (part of Cubixplayer2) is pretty hard to solve also. So easy to mess up what has already been solved :|

Here is my top 5 hardest puzzles (that I own):

  • 1. Geranium Puzzle: Without doubt the hardest puzzle in my collection and also the only one I haven't been able to solve yet. (I came close, but gave up and will try again in the future.)
  • 2. CT Bandaged 3x3x3 Kit: Some you make are pretty easy, some are extremely hard. It's all up to you what you make. For a list of Bandaged set-ups, check the link in my signature.
  • 3. Latch Cube: Once you know the "method" it becomes a lot easier, but getting it in the starting setup (done intuitively) can still be quite frustrating at time.
  • 4. Gear Cube Extreme: Once you know how to solve it, it's not that hard, but the first time it can be a very hard puzzle.
  • 5. Witeden 3x3x9 v2: This was my second cuboid, so yeah, it was pretty hard back then. Now it's not that hard anymore.
  • HONORABLE MENTION: 1x1x1: Made one myself with Lego, dropped it once by accident and haven't been able to solve it since.

Edit: Scrap the honorable mention, it isn't mass-produced :P (and if it was, making one yourself is much more satisfying).

Greetz,
Quuador
