Is it legal/possible for somebody with GelatinBrains to email me a copy of the program? It was free to begin with so I can't imagine it hurting the designer if I get it from another source. Would love any information, thanks.

EDIT: I now have gelatin brains. Now I just have to learn how to use this difficult thing

Awesome! I could not find a working link. I'm on 64 bit Win but running it online will work fine. Thanks!

I suggest you use the Java version. It's cross platform and is 32/64bit independent!

This is an unfortunate myth pushed by Java backers. This, like most 3D Java code, relies on native libraries that are operating system and processor version dependent. Gelatinbrain has to do a lot of work in the backend to make sure all of the libraries all of the various operating systems need are available and work properly.

Java is cross platform until you need to do anything complicated like threading, accepting network connections, allocate large amounts of memory, 3D graphics, draw GUI windows, etc. Once you touch anything like that you hit a complicated layer of abstractions that either make use of the lowest common denominator feature set (which usually means it sucks) or you hit OS-specific native library bindings.
