It's been a week since I got my new shengshou pyraminx and today I just got a sub-4 second solve (3.46) through the use of my method. I was absolutely flabbergasted when i looked down at the timer and immediately checked the randomly generated scramble to try it again. I scrambled the puzzle and observed it realizing that there were no east ways to place center and edges. 3 of the tips were also turned and these are the things that I have the most trouble with due to my lack of dexterity. I was just baffled. Has anyone else had a similar experience with a puzzle (e.g. a nearly complete white cross or 2 pairs on a 2x2)?

To be honest, that's not too special. That is why single solves are not very important at speed solving. In fact, I know someone who had a so called "full skip" on a 2x2. The scramble just led to the solved position again.
