I recently used this tutorial on making a fully functional 3x3x5 and I have no idea on how to go about solving it, so could anyone give me some hints and tips on solving it.

I don't know if this will help you much, I think you'd need to know your cuboid algorithms and such first, but I have made a video about me making my FF 3x3x5 and a review and a walkthrough solve.

The walkthrough solve starts at around 5:45 in the video if you just want to skip to that. Like I said, it's not a detailed tutorial, but it's something at least =) I hope you solve it!
