Does anyone know how to fix the 2 switched centers problem when solving a Curvy Copter II? This is driving me crazy! Spoilers(specific algos) are welcome!

Also, does anyone have algs for cycling the centers pure?

This is because the core is rotated 90 degrees. You have to resolve it unfortunately.

It's much quicker to solve it with jumbling, provided you happen to stumble across convinient algorithms, which is what happened to me.

If you want a routine that swaps two centers pure that's impossible by definition. To resolve the odd permutation parity everything else must be moved around the centers rather than the centers swapped. If you accept that as "pure" of course a routine exists but I'm not aware of a short or efficient one.

Maarten's cyle is a 2-2 swap which is an even cycle just like a 3-cylcle.

If you want a 3-cycle there is a simple [[1:1],[1:1]] (12-move) sequence:
[UR, FU, UR], [DR, BD, RD], [UR, FU, UR], [DR, BD, DR]

You can alter that a bit and make it FR FL FR FL and than UR RD UR RD , than undo the first four than undo the second four.

Because if you do it that way you can leave the fourth and the ninth move away. It's a [3.4] then and has only 14 instead of 16 moves.

Not that it is much better, but still. Solving centers first, than the needle pieces is better though.

Brandon's 12 moves sequence is pretty cool. I didn't know that one.

You both do far better than me. I cooked a few 32-move alg's for a 2-2 swap of center-based triangles alone. With up to 6 setup moves you can solve all these triangles in the last stage. It works, but it's a 500+ move solution. (don't try this at home )

its the same as the the other one I posted above, which is basically the same as yours except for the missing move, it just is missing another two moves. That's a clean 3-cycle for the triangular face pieces. I solve the triangles last too, and yes, the setupmoves get a bit difficult in the end, but the alg is short enough.

If you're going to go for as few moves as possible, I think the best solve order is:

0) Check for center parity to determine correct orientation for corners.
1) Helicopter cube pieces. Corners and wide-triangles in whatever way is the most efficient.
2) Thin triangles [[1:1],1] (8 moves) [LU, FL, LU, UR, LU, FL, LU, UR]
3) Centers [[1:1],[1:1]] (12 moves) [UR, FU, UR, DR, BD, DR, UR, FU, UR, DR, BD, DR]

The reason I advocate centers last is that there are only 6 of them but there are 24 thin triangles. It's better to use an 8-move routine for 24 pieces and a 12-move routine for 6 rather than a 4-move routine for 6 pieces and then a 12-move routine for the 24 pieces.

That is:
24 * 8 + 6 * 12 = 264
Versus:
4 * 6 + 24 * 12 = 312

I get that, but once again you just found a sequence I couldn't. I wasn't really trying because I didn't consider it to exist but I wasn't aware of an 8 moves sequence for triangles. Crazy.
I should have klicked around more. Maybe I would have found it by that.
