Is it possible? Every piece is solved except for the white orange piece which needs to be twisted. All other pieces are good. (The middle strip in the 2nd picture is definitely all red; the photo messed the colours.)

Impossible. With puzzles like the Dino Cube, the piece's orientation will always remain the same.

It is entirely possible, even though it is impossible to flip just a single piece on its own.

It's not possible. Well, on the Dino Cylinder, because there's four possible ways it can be solved, it may be possible, but if it's in its correct position then all puzzles based on the Dino Cube do not change orientation.

Sorry, I stand corrected. I assumed that it was possible because the four circular pieces don't show their orientation, but the Dino Cube does not allow pieces to be flipped at all. It looks like it is impossible to get that piece into that position with that orientation, regardless of the state of the other pieces.

I don't think it's in my house. I think it's one of my students at school... Detentions for them all!

That *does* explain this mystery. And sometimes, students can be very creative,
e.g. placing dry peas inside a Rubik's Rings puzzle!

Maybe you were right at first, if you look at the photo, the oval pieces can be rotated, you can not see if they are.

That's what I thought initially, but it's actually impossible for any of the pieces to be flipped in the first place. A piece's position already defines it's position - see Jaap's website. Try flipping 2 or 3 edges on a Dino Cube while keeping them in their respective places - it's impossible.

Well, I just checked mixing a rainbow, and yes, it is impossible to turn one of those pieces with the other well placed.
