New World record- 6.65 seconds

I cannot believe I am the first person posting this but I can't find it any where. I will apologise in advance because I assume I just missed it.
During Melbourne Summer Open 2011 Feliks Zemdegs once again broke a number of world records-

Rubik's Cube single- 6.65
Rubik's Cube average- 7.87

5x5x5 single- 1.01.59
5x5x5 average- 1.07.01

6x6x6 single- 2.05.88
6x6x6 avearge- 2.15.64

4x4x4 blindfold single- 3.37.80

No one posts about it because everyone expects it. Feliks is annoyingly fast. End of.

It will be my mission to beat his average before the end of 2013.

So I watched a video of this guy on youtube about two minutes ago. He is like a Rubik's robot. Super impressive. I cant believe how fast he is! His fingers must have six packs.

I saw the video yesterday.
It is unbelievable how fast Felix is and it looks just like a normal job for him. Everytime I think it can't be faster than the new WR, but with him we can expect a lot more world records on cubing.

Oh, I don't think Feliks broke the 4x4x4 blindfold world record. The video was a joke of someone else next to him who took several minutes of memorising.

I think it's time to have a world-record-excluding-Feliks list. And WCA should ban him, just because he's too good at everything...........

Not a slow-motion camera, but the video is good enough. You can see he hesitated a little bit at around 3:00, when he was doing f2l.

Thanks! But still, I'd like to see a better quality up-close high-speed vid some day. (Not necessarily of a WR solve!

) I want to see just how the GuHong is able to handle the speed.

I beat the slow-mo time. Haha, it was fun to do though! It was a great way to entertain myself for less than a minute. xD

Ah, so the 6.65s was with the hesitation slowing him down. I'm sure he'll get faster once he works that out.

IIRC, the guy in the video in the video is Zane C. from the the SS forum (very good at BLD) Feliks is behind Zane's Stackmat display :lol:

Somehow I missed these records (and this topic) when they were first put up. He holds 11/33 world records now, counting singles and averages as separate records - that's one third!

I would imagine sub 10 seconds would still be possible. You would lose a few seconds from inspection, but gain a partial second in not having to stop a timer.
