I played this cube in the puzzle meeting yesterday in Hong Kong, which bring from Roxanne.

I was very interested to it. I played it for the whole night, but I was regretful that I had no time to play the others puzzle....



1st step: solve the direction of the 8 little corners
The position of the little corners must be right, so we just need to solve the direction. It is easy.

2nd step: solve all the center
It is like a 2x2 cube, but this is easily.
We should know that each two little center must connect together for the cube's structure.


3rd step: combine the same color edge
Just like one of step of solving 4x4, but this is a little bit difficult, because we should keep the corners direction.

4th step: solve the position of the edge
I pay most time on this step.
I just defined a new formula for this cube, which is a 3 edges change formula.
I don't know how to show the formula in words for this 8 axis cube,
and I can't take a video that the cube is not mine.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but as far as I see the edges can be devided into two groups, I would rather solve the two group seperately than combine the same color edges which I think makes it more difficult.

do you mean that solve the 3 edges according to the related corner?

The Mosaic Cube is the same to a Dino Cube as the Master Pyraminx is to the Skewb Diamond. The centers are equivalent of Dino Cube pieces, and you can solve the outer pieces the same way as a Master Pyraminx, VULCANO, or even 4x4x4.

Mosaic Cube is a 4x4 DINO.

4x4x4 would be the wrong term. It's a Master Dino Cube with centers.

The Mosaic cube is the Lattice Cube + Corners. The corners arise because the shallow cut vertex is built like a slice move allowing the fixed corners to stick through.

I don't think it is correct to say that it is the "master" Dino or the 4x4x4 Dino cube. A master puzzle has an added, deeper cut per twistable face/edge/vertex. This puzzle has a shallower than Dino Cube cut.

It basically solves like two independent puzzles. First solve the Dino cube (paying attention to the fixed corners) and then solve the edges. It's (1,1) commutators for the whole solve.

The edges are in two different orbitals just like (and for the same reason as) the corners of a Skewb.

We always count the number of layers and axis to describe a cube in Chinese.
We like to say this is a 4 layers and 8 axis cube.

because the word "master" is not really clearly identify what the cube is.
