I am thinking of upgrading my PC a bit at Christmas,
My Rig:
AMD Sempron 3100+ 1.74ghz
512mb DDR RAM
GeForce FX5200 128mb
70gb RAID Hard Disk

It's average, I know, so I am thinking of upgrading the CPU and RAM.
So far, I have found:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/ ... tium4.html
A Pentium 4 3.0ghz for £59 (second one down)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Intel.html
A Motherboard that will handle the CPU £82(first one)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/ ... emory.html
1 gb of RAM £76 (second one down)

£220 all together for a 3ghz CPU and 1 gig of RAM.

What would you say about that? Should I get it if I can convince my mam to get me it?

I just got mine upgraded about a week ago (after my birthday ).

The old one:
Athlon 2200+
512MB RAM
80GB HD
some cheap 128MB graphics card (don't remember)
15" LCD monitor

The new one is:
Athlon X2 4200+
1GB Geil DDR2 RAM
250GB HD
GeForce 7600GT 256MB
19" LCD monitor

Not a huge change, but it works quite a bit smoother. And the games actually work on a decent resolution and with all the details on high :D

Anyway, if you can afford it and know it'll make you happy, get it. You can also get quite some money for the old parts (I couldn't believe what people would buy but I managed to sell a 17"CRT monitor and a Pentium 2 computer recently. And there I was, afraid I'll have to pay someone to take it).

I can't afford that stuff, I want to know what you think of me getting that stuff? I am not willing to spend anymore than what I have already posted.
