At sometime or another virtually everybody gets turned down. Though it may feel like it, it isn't the end. If she knew you better maybe she'd have accepted your invitation gracefully, you never know. At any rate, take it easy on yourself.
Look around; someone else may have eyes for you.

lately i have been popular at school. Known as the kid who can do that cube thing... Currently have been on the school newspaper twice and requested to start a cubing club next year..!

But sadly cubing just doesnt get the chicks

Well, duh! We're either smart enough to do it ourselves (and, thus, not so easily impressed) or couldn't care less.

I must disagree. I got invited to a sorority party because of the cube. That was fun Then again I'm in college.

And believe me, the people in college are a night/day difference. I hated HS, but I love college. Everybody cares about what they're doing. And people aren't afraid to be nerds (Nerd and proud of it! )

I cube a lot on the bus and if you want to meet people this is what I learned:
You have to think of it as a conversation starter, not the entire conversation (I know most of us here can talk about the cube for hours). Its a quick way to get someone to notice you, but after that you have to direct the conversation elsewhere otherwise people get bored. Try and get them to talk about their hobbies. Also, it helps if people don't know about your cubing skills to begin with.
