Yay! I say again: Yay!
A new skate park opened on Saturday, just 15 min from where I live:

It's called "Evolution" and was designed
by skaters
for skaters. It's got floodies for nitesk8ing, loos, is open till 10pm, 7 days, and has a
hyauge 8' hip-cum-tranny-cum-vert-lip which all the BMXers like to show off on. And it's proper concrete, none of your temporary rot. And all this for just
20p to skate all day!!!!!
I went to the opening (local bands, bouncy castles, demos, etc.) just for a look-see (I haven't done any
serious skating since boards only had one tail) and I have to say,
it's the business!
I got a membership straight away and I've dusted off my old board (not
that old; I bought a new set-up a few years back with the intention of skating GOMA in Glasgow, but they started shoo-ing people away just as I was getting a feel for the place). Now I just have to re-learn how to skate!

Any sidewalk surfers in the forum? Check the piccy and let me know what you think:

Better than Livi? I think so! (Definately better than Blantyre and the new mini-park at the Kelly, but at least the city center has something that isn't a damn granite bench!)
