Star Wars III Revenge of the Sith is about to be released.
I thought it would be fun to take a poll before the movie comes out.
Everybody knows that Anakin Skywalker is going to become Darth Vader. What do you think the audiences' reactions will be when the man in the famous black helmet makes his "first" appearance?

Hi Darren,
It dawned on me that audiences are likely to cheer wildly, (and how weird that will look to psychologists). I thought I'd ask the membership here to see if anyone here sees what I see.
Cheers,

I'm a pretty solid Star Wars fan, but let's admit it, it's a pretty campy series of movies. As a result Darth Vader comes off as somewhat of a pansy compared to many modern movie villians. I mean, the most memorable line from the last movie was him whining about sand getting all over the place. And don't even mention Darth Maul, sheesh, what a joke that guy was.
But to get to my point about the nature of movie fans, am I the only one who remembers people cheering for Hannibal Lector everytime he bashed in someone's skull or spoon-fed someone his brains?! Darth Vader is more like a Walt Disney Cruella De Vil type of villan than a Hannibal Lector type of villan. Cheering for him is far less disturbing!

Sandy,
Although I haven't seen episode 3 yet, I have to disagree about the "pansy" quote. It was in Episode 2 where he went to get his mother and he killed every tusken raider in the camp. Not just the men, the women and babies too. That was even before he was a fullfledged "badguy"
The difference I think is Darth is evil and Hannibal was insane.
I have to get Darth's back since I grew up watching those movies and they were huge to me.

Hey Vadim, this is great. It kind of reminded me of Thumb Wars, but I like this much better.
