Hey everyone,

So I know I haven't been up on the forum in a very long time. I've been following the new designs closely but I lost interest in puzzle design after a while because it was always the same thing and after 3 and a half years, I felt like it was the right thing to move on.
I've still been doing design since this is a passion for me, I just needed a small change. This chess set is one of my recent designs and I got it 3D printed. If any of you like chess around here, I hope you like it :) The picture is not too good with the sunlight but I'll get a new one soon that looks better !

Thanks a lot to the people who supported me and contributed to making my designs a reality throughout those past 4 years, especially Claus and Jon as well as all the others who found interest in my designs. I wouldn't have been able to go this far without all of you !

All the best !
Greg

Wow, very cool! The piece designs are neo-gothic looking.

I love chess. Would you show your other set designs?

Just one piece of constructive criticism; The bishop looks more like a classic-style pawn and the pawn looks more like a classic bishop. :D

Great chess set though I am surprised you didn't make them all puzzles. It would seem a natural way to push puzzle making into a new direction for you.
You are not the only one by the way to use your normal puzzle making techniques to construct a chess set. Mine was at the very beginning of my puzzle making- viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3892&hilit=chess when I was equally into making other stuff.

Beautiful designs Greg!

Out of curiosity, what was the print cost?

Dave

I like yours Tony ! Nice casting skills !
Dave, the cost was around 200$ total, which is surprising considering the size :)
EMarx, I'll take some screenshots when I work on them again, soon enough !

On the ebay auction there are some nicer pictures if you want :)

I love this Chess set. There are a few little things I'd change as the shapes are almost too modern for me. The Queen for example makes me think of a Christmas tree. But to be honest there have been proportions in just about all sets that I think are off. So you've inspired me. I'm going to make my own set. My favorite piece from your set is the Rook. So I haven't changed that too much. My Queen looks more traditional. So far these are the only two pieces I have done. I also like the fact that you made the Knight a unicorn.
