I have problems with Spam all the time with hotmail outlook.
I used to block senders, now I don't. I find that killing the subject more effective than killing the sender. These morons spawn 2 random word domains at a frightening rate. This is what I do...
If you hit options (that little wheel next to the sidways smily face), then "more email settings".
On the right, click on "rules for sorting new messages".
You end up on a rule generator board. This lets you block out a variety of things.
I normally hit new, followed by changing the options from the dropdown menus to:
subject, contains (or contains word), followed by the offending spam word.
The spam words I've blocked so far include: debts, deals, singles, discounts, rollover, payments, medical, apple, debt (yes, debts isn't blocked by debt), free, "As seen on tv", bonus, "hey you", bingo, "get up to", cash, mortgage, deposit, "get laid", accident, injury, compensation, visa, cruise, penis, income, viagra, mis-sold, insurance, and pharmacy.
Lastly I click "Delete these messages - don't even put them in my Deleted folder", then save.
