Ummm... Pantazis, for the Win! (over 5000, close to 1500 posts over the next contender). But with quality, not just noise.

Of note is that we removed the member post count from below the avatar because it on occasion would spur people to try to bump it up solely for the number.

Post without content are not a good thing. What makes great members is high content posts, whether that be a lot of them or just a few. There are some fabulous posters who don't post often, but every one is quality.

I must admit that a fair portion of my posts are just noise. Over the last couple of months though, my post per day count has fallen rapidly (about 0.5%), so I'm hoping that the quality of my posts has started to improve.

No, but I certainly left room for a misimpression, didn't I? Careless of me.
I am pretty sure those are independent measurements.
It runs the whole spectrum of course, from low content infrequent posters to high content prolific posters. Most all of us (certainly me) have been guilty of a few silly or low content posts. It is really only low content frequent posters that bring things down.
