I have a ".java" file and a ".class" file that came with it from another author.
I can upload them to my website with an associated htm file and they work great when I load the htm file.
First question-- is the .class file generated automatically by the JVM? If I delete the class file on my website it isn't regenerated when I reload. Hmmm...
Now, I'd like to start making changes to the source and see them when I reload. I've deleted cache in the browser and in java. No matter what I do, the old version is running.
Do I need to compile a .class file manually and upload it?
I would really like to have some fun fiddling around without knowing everything about how java works. Bring me back to my Commodore 64.
I honestly don't know how kids today can fiddle with programming for the first time.
I have done some searching and it really seems the answer is to get deep into all the details of how things work in a complex enterprise project to even be able to change "Hello world" to "Hello you". I just want to have that ability to run new code.
Any experts here willing to help?
