I am possible considering selling off one of my Hungarian Supernova's. If you are interested, send me a PM with your offer. Serious offers only. I would like to see this puzzle go to a twisty member. At the end of the month I will see what offers have been made and then decide to sell or possibly auction it off.

I have received a couple of good offers. Is anyone else interested? I will probably make a decision by the end of the week.

Item has been traded!!!

Thanks to all of you who submitted offers but I got one I just couldn't refuse. I will post again once the puzzle arrives. Hopefully it will not be coming by boat. :( That is all I will share for now. I will let the other party share more if they want to.

Hi :)

What is the difference between Hungarian Supernova and Tomy Megaminx? To me they look identical. The current megaminx sold at Mefferts for instance has larger edges.

Hi Georges :)

Yes i saw that page before. Both the Tomy version and the Hungarian Supernova look like the one on the right in the picture at Jaap's site. So, who has more information to share ??

I have an old megaminx that have very bad curlups and missing stickers*, but the center white one sais TOMY and it doesn't look like this supernova, it looks like the ones with bigger edges, as you put it...

*Havn't come around to sticker and lube it properly (lubed it once, so now it does turn, but like a nightmare more or less) yet, but when time arrive...

This is the Tomy one: http://helm.lu/cube/cubcol/megaminx_299.jpg
Here in its original box: http://helm.lu/cube/cubcol/megaminx_299a.jpg
It is called Megaminx as you can see.
The Hungarian version (older) had been marketed as Supernova by Pentangle (UK).
Here it is: http://helm.lu/cube/cubcol/megaminx_300.jpg
and in its original box: http://helm.lu/cube/cubcol/megaminx_792.jpg
The same one has been sold in Eastern Europe like this:

Meffert's new production (I only have the tiled version) is here:

Ah ok :)

I was sure i had seen a Tomy megaminx before looking like the Hungarian Supernova, with small edges. Then i suppose that site was wrong about that. It probably was a picture of some hungarian megaminx

Dodd, Could you please tell who was the lucky ''winner'' of your Supernova?

Thanks.

I won't say who the winner is but I will post a picture of the traded puzzle just as soon as I get a picture of it. It was not a straight trade (some change was involved) so don't be too shocked when you see the picture.
If I traded puzzle for puzzle, I got a great deal. Be patient a little longer. If the other lucky person wants to reveal his name, then I will let him do that.
