Hey.

Is this on line store trustable?
http://www.charisgames.com

Does anynoe know if they sell authentic rubiks products?
Can anyone confirm if the rubiks cubes offered there are the best vailable rubiks versions?

I'm thinking about just buying the 2x2x2, 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 from them. They have better prices than http://www.rubiks.com.
What do you think?

Thanks!

That store looks reputable, it sells a variety of production puzzles and games, and has a secure site notice on the home page.

Also check out Ed's Think Shop which is run by the Forum member Ed Cambridge. I have not purchased anything from his store directly, but I did buy a Gerdig Ufo when he put together a large order. He was very helpful and the prices on his website are very competitive. Contact him to find out what he can offer for shipping; USPS (US post office) will probably be the cheapest and should take less than two weeks.

The shop can be found here:

The site is secure, they even have an eBay ID. I think the cubes are made by 'winning moves' or something.

Yes, they say the cubes are made by WinningMoves.

BUT, is WinningMoves the official maker of the cubes sold at http://www.rubiks.com? If I purchase from them, am I getting exactly the same cubes as in http://www.rubiks.com?

I just need this one more information before I place my order!

Thanks!

I believe they are the same, but I am not sure. Someone else can tell you for sure.

Yes, they're the same. I contacted someone at Rubiks.com about it a few months ago, and was told that they sold the Winning Moves brand on their site. Apparently the same company is known as "Kroeger" in Canada, and is probably known by other names in other countries, too... IMHO, companies shuld only be able to sell products under ONE brand name, instead of having things like Kraft/Philip Morris and Mr. Cristie/RJR Nabisco... L8r.

I agree...
Unless there would be unwanted confusion due to the name.
I can give you two examples that almost apply to this.
1 The car Shevy Nova isn't named Nova in Spanishspeaking countries. ("no va" means something like "doesn't work")
2 A Japanese travelagency expanding to US had to change their name whe they got to many calls from travelers who had "rude" questions (The company was named "Kinki Nippon Trevels")

There was also another company that made a car called the "Mist" which didn't go over too well in Germany (translates as something like "excrement"), and who can forget "Bite the wax tadpole" in China (Coca Cola)? I'm sure a web search will find plenty more. L8r.

Aha! I have one of those fancy packaged 25th anniv. cubes that has that name brand on the package instead of winning moves. Now it's all clear.
