Hi all, I have to raise some cash for some new moulds and I am having to sell a few puzzles from my collection :(

I hope none of you have to do this, it is heart breaking!

I am putting on ebay over the next few days

An Original Dodecahedron (by DrChristoph Bandelow)
A Power Rangers cube (by Rubik's)
A Metal Chrome cube
An Original 1979 Hungarian Magic cube in box
and my pride and joy a SEALLED RUBIK'S MATE.

I have put a large start price on the MATE because I do not really want to sell it, as I do not think I will ever find another one

As and when the auctions come up I will pop them on twistypuzzles.com

I am nearly crying at the moment because as soon as this goes on the site I will have to sell these fantastic items that I have collected but every bit of cash helps at the moment.

Yours very sadly, Rich

Instead of parting with puzzles that are dear to you, an option might be to offer an investment in your venture.

Right, that's a nice one.
I have two of them with different design.

So, you're not selling the dodecahedron? Also, how do you know the one cube is from 1979? I have one like that but don't see a date anywhere.

Hi Stefan, I am attaching the picture of the dodecahedron. The 1979 Rubik's I bought from David Singmaster and he told me that it was from then. I know that David was buying Rubik's cubes from a german distributor in 1979 and this puzzles packaging was identical to them.

Here is the link for the Magic dodecahedron

Is this one fully functional?

I have one that looks similar to your picture, but in my one the centers ARE the screws, meaning that after a couple of turns the cube is likely to either fall apart or not being able to be turned due to strong tension...

I guess yours isn't as mine, but I can't grasp how the centers "hook" to the core, since I think the "original plastic way" seems unadaptable to metal...

Hi Haara, the cube does turn like a normal rubik's cube. I have not mixed it up or taken it apart so I am not sure how it will be after extensive play. I hope this helps?

I have got the Rubik's mate on here

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rare-ORIGINAL-RUB ... dZViewItem

I have put a start price £99.99 on it. I know this is a lot but I do not think I will ever be able to find another one in this condition and if it does not sell I will be very happy to keep it.

Cheers Rich

Hi reeech,
could you please explain the difference between 'mate' and 'siamese'? I don't see any so far.

Thanks

Frank

Hi reeeech,

I already have two siamese cubes (one stickered - also with the white 'Rubik's Cube' sticker from old times  - and one with tiles from the Ergatoudis auction), which are linked by three cubies and another one linked by two. I just simply wanted to know, if 'mate' means something else. It just a question about the functionality. I do not doubt, that Rich auction is correct at all!!

for the Magic dodecahedron will you ship to the USA as well. it says "Will post to United Kingdom." and Available to United Kingdom only. does that make it not available to us in the United States?
